This past spring I was able to attend Springfest for the first time. As a newbie to Springfest I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been to California plenty of times as I’m originally from Cali. This trip, however, was something special. My first major road trip and attendance at a major show in my Challenger…alone. It was one of the greatest experiences in my life traveling across country in this car. These cars are awesome road trip cars. The car, radio blastin’, the most beautiful scenery in the country…
Anyway, back to the story.
I met up with Lonnie “Doc Fluty” (Dodge Challenger) in Dallas and traveled out to Irvine, Ca with him. Once there I met up with Jon “JKreykes” (Dodge Charger) and his wife Jen “HiDef Girl”, Jon’s father (Dodge Challenger), and Pedro “Ezcorpion” and Cincita who flew out.
This event is amazing! The venue and the weather was absolutely perfect. I was unprepared for how large this gathering is. Dodge does an awesome job with sponsorship of this event. They offered test drives of all the Dodge lineup, ride alongs in their drag car, Chrysler 300 SRT, and a Viper GTS, tons of prizes and free BBQ lunch.
The after party back at the hotel was a great opportunity to meet with the owners, look at the car displays at night, and of course take even more photos that I could bring back to our members.
If you have the opportunity this coming year to attend Springfest…do! It’s an experience of a lifetime.
Enjoy the photos!

DFWLX participated in a show benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project at The Brick Tavern in Sachse, TX. DFWLX had 11 members participate and donate their time for a very special benefit for wounded soliders coming back from military active duty. Their were many different cars ranging from old classics to modern machines. This show also featured a boat entry as well, which is unusual for a car show, but was welcomed by a lot of spectators and participants, when they fired up the engines they definitely had everyones attention. For an extra donation you had the chance to get your vehicle pictured with a pinup girl. Shanna Jo, a DFWLX member placed in the top 5 for best car category. Beautiful weather along with a great cause made it a great show for all who participated.
